Evaluating Business Core Values
Where were you a year ago?
I was on another zoom meeting, but this time I was saying goodbye to a wonderful team and getting ready to launch my new consulting business. It forced me to think about the things I value most in business:
Collaboration. Working with people who share a collaborative spirit. Bringing positive influence to new situations by solving tough problems and illuminating opportunities.
Strength. Taking risks, not fearing setbacks, and as a result, rising up. Being resilient. Looking for ways to help my clients do the same.
Trustworthiness. Being a trusted partner to companies and leaders, enabling clients to shine.
Wellness. Doing things every day that fuel physical and mental wellbeing, the catalyst for effectiveness. Encouraging the same for my community.
Growth. Continuing to learn new things. Innovations (and revelations) this past year have given us new opportunities to influence positive change in so many ways.
This started as a loose, messy list of 25. Just like many business challenges, it was too complicated to digest until I narrowed it down to a powerful 5. It was a complex thing that needed to be simplified into manageable and actionable guidelines.
This past year has been a chance for all of us to re-evaluate priorities. Remember to look closely at your core values - for yourself, your team, or your brand. Then, don’t be afraid to share them, nurture them, and act on them.
